At Dailey Orthodontics, our 7 & Up Club involves far more than children’s braces in Hampton, VA, and Poquoson, VA. In fact, most children who first see Dr. Dailey at age 7 don’t need braces at all!
When your child joins our 7 & Up club, Dr. Dailey simply takes that opportunity to evaluate their bite and jaw alignment while they still have a mixture of adult and baby teeth. During this unique period of development, some children are able to avoid future extractions, braces, or even surgery with some well-timed preventative measures.
For many children in our 7 & Up Club, there is no need for preventative measures. They benefit from their early evaluation nonetheless, however, because Dr. Dailey is able to monitor their growth and development over the next few years. In cases where a child will need braces as a teenager, this monitoring ensures that their braces treatment starts at exactly the right time for their best possible outcome.
Ultimately, only a trained orthodontic specialist can be sure if your child would benefit from early treatment or children’s braces, since many potential problems may not be visibly apparent until prevention is too late. However, if you observe any of the following signs in your child, then we strongly recommend that you bring your child to see Dr. Dailey for an early evaluation.
